FORRM is Contemporary Artist Firouz FarmanFarmaian's explorative experimental-fusion-rock platform following the artists previous projects on the international indie rock scene - here adding a free- form multicultural approach to his music making.
FORRM NU FORRM 2022
In the late days of the Pandemic we planted our flag in an Ochre-Pink Finca deep in horse country Sotogrande, South of Spain.
Leaning on the banks of Rio Guadiaro, the Finca offered welcome retreat. We called it Big Pink after the Band’s 1968 album - a nod to Dylan’s basement tapes.
Big Pink’s fireplace made for totemic grounds as winter of 2021 moved in.Jacked up my amps around the foyer and got down to recording free form on analog four track late into nights - often till dawn - as embers dwindled and cooled, the music translated the feel of shifts and transitions.
Axl Narayana’s den is a semi concealed secret of Tarifa’s old town, a trove of ragtag instruments and resilient hippie vibes. We sat to connect my slowcore disto riffs to his Tantric Tabla sequences.
Nested on the Southernest point of the European continent in the shadow of Tarifa’s Valdevaquero dunes, José Maria Sagrista is a powerful producer-musician from Sevillla, famous for his progressive psychedelic rock signature. The studio was built from the ground up - and possesses the singular liberating energetic flow I needed to create sound the way I extemporize on canvas, layering ideas - live.
Early 2022 we drove up to see José and started the recordings of FORRM NU FORRM under a good star.
FORRM released its debut album FORRM NU FORRM in July 2022 on the occasion of the 59th Biennale di Venezia.
